    Laparoscopic Surgery

The idea of surgery can feel worrying, especially when you think about large scars, pain, and long hospital stays. Thanks to modern advances, many operations today can be performed through just a few tiny incisions, using a technique called laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery.

At Niramayaa Superspeciality Hospital, our experienced surgeons perform a wide range of laparoscopic procedures using advanced high-definition equipment. Our aim is to treat your condition effectively while helping you recover faster, with less discomfort, and get back to your normal life sooner.

    What Is Laparoscopic Surgery?

Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical technique in which the surgeon makes a few small cuts, usually 5 to 10 mm, in the abdomen. A thin tube with a high-definition camera, called a laparoscope, is inserted through one of these cuts, sending magnified images of the inside of the body to a screen. The surgeon then uses specially designed fine instruments, inserted through the other small cuts, to perform the operation with precision.

Because it avoids a large incision, laparoscopic surgery is gentler on the body than traditional open surgery.

    Benefits of Laparoscopic Surgery

Smaller Incisions: A few tiny cuts instead of one large incision.
Less Pain: Reduced pain after surgery and less need for pain medication.
Shorter Hospital Stay: Many patients go home within one to two days, and some on the same day.
Faster Recovery: Quicker return to daily activities, work, and normal routine.
Minimal Scarring:Small scars that fade well over time.
Lower Risk of Complications: Reduced risk of wound infection and incisional hernia.
Less Blood Loss: Precise surgery with minimal bleeding.

    FAQ’s

    Is laparoscopic surgery safe?
Yes. Laparoscopic surgery is a well-established, safe technique performed worldwide. Like any surgery, it carries some risks, which your surgeon will explain before the procedure.
How long does the surgery take?
This depends on the procedure. Simple operations such as gallbladder or appendix removal may take around an hour, while complex surgeries may take longer.
    Will I have visible scars?
The incisions are very small and usually heal into faint scars that become less noticeable over time.
Why do I feel shoulder pain after surgery?
During surgery, carbon dioxide gas is used to gently inflate the abdomen. Some of this gas may irritate nerves and cause temporary shoulder pain, which usually settles within one to two days.
Is laparoscopic surgery more expensive than open surgery?
The cost of the procedure may sometimes be slightly higher, but a shorter hospital stay and faster return to work often balance this out. Our team will provide a clear cost estimate, and cashless insurance facilities are available. (Please confirm.)
